My boat has sunk, so I swim to shore

All I can think is “Lord, please no more!”

I am so exhausted with the stress and the pain,

Please make it stop, bring me some peace again.

I am almost there, and now I can stand

But another wave comes, knocking me to the sand.

Barely enough time to sputter and get to my knees

When yet another pushes me down; O Lord, PLEASE!

My child, I warned there will be suffering in the life that you live.

Endure the suffering, and to you My strength I promise to give.

You will grow weary when on your own you struggle to shore.

Let Me be your strength, your guide, and on you let Me pour

My wisdom, and truth, and blessings that come in the pain.

It is in the struggle and endurance, that true peace you will gain.

Weariness

Many of us have been there; when it is hard to take one more step, do one more thing. Demands, responsibilities, caring for others, the list can go on and on; day after day, with no end in sight.

Jesus promises to be there for those who call upon Him.

“Come unto me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest…” Matthew 11:28  (NIV)

We will all come to a point sometime, when inspite of our best efforts and determination, we will be at the end of our strength…done…used up.  Seek Him. He is waiting to have you call upon Him, for that strength and peace that comes even in the midst of the struggle!
